Someday, I’m gonna get that mystery novel of mine published. Thanks for the info Patricia.

I wish I could, but not a resident of any of the 50 states, nor even of the Western Hemisphere, come to think of it.

I know what you mean Helen. I’m a member so I feel I shouldn’t participate — but according to the rules, it’s perfectly okay to do so.
Elizabeth, so far, the national organizations I belong to are Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. They are both excellent for their programs, conferences, and newsletters, and both have local and regional chapters, or with SinC, there’s an online chapter as well. I also recommend joining organizations in your state or a state nearby. I belong to Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and Northern Colorado Writers. I’m thinking about joining International Thriller Writers as well, but have not done it yet.
Jane, good luck. Can’t be much easier than MWA is doing it. And it’s great exposure for the member authors.

That’s a lot of books to win. I just checked out the contest and entry sounds easy enough so I’ll have to give it a try.

I’ve got the MWA paperwork, but have yet to fill it out. I’ve also got the paperwork for a couple other organizations (and I’m a lapsed member of several clubs.) Which ones do you find most rewarding? And thanks for the heads-up on the book giveaways.

Thanks Patricia. I’m not a member of MWA, so hadn’t heard about the giveaways. I’ll probably check it out (I only hesitate ’cause I feel guilty taking free books – is that a Southern thing?) Oh, what the heck, I’ll click over.
