The Northern Colorado Writers Conference has been scheduled for March 11-12 at the Hilton (near the Colorado State University campus) in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Here are all the reasons I can think of why you should go:
1. Colorado is great.
2. Fort Collins is great.
3. Northern Colorado Writers is great.
4. And the conference just keeps getting better every year.
Agents and editors will be taking pitches. This year we are fortunate to have Rachelle Gardner of Wordserve Literary, Kelly Sonnack from Andrea Brown Agency, and Michael Ebeling and Kristina Holmes from Ebeling Associates. Editors will be announced soon.
The lineup of guest speakers and workshop presenters is available on the main conference page. The tentative conference schedule, designed to educate and motivate writers at all levels, has also been posted.
Patricia Stoltey says
Heidi, funny how that works. And it’s not much better for fiction writers. We spend so much on book promotion that it’s hard to scrape up the conference funds. It’s networking, though, and an opportunity to pitch to editors or agents, and education, and tax deductible…so I do it anyway.
HeidiTownMayor says
I attended the first two NoCo Writers Conferences and they were great.
I wish there was a scholarship fund or some other way to pay for these events! As a non-fiction, freelance writer it’s very difficult to scrapd together the funds for writers conferences.
Since I’ve become a full-time writer I can no longer afford conferences. ๐
When I was a part-time writer and part-time office manager (laid off in 2008) I could afford the.
That’s what I call irony.
Medeia Sharif says
I wish I could go. One of my goals is to go to more conferences. I have a few in mind, but I can’t make this one. Have fun.
Deborah says
I’ll be there. I’m kind of a newbie to this writing thing; looking foward to meeting new people and learning new things.
Patricia Stoltey says
Hah, did everyone notice that Kerrie says she’ll be there…Kerrie Flanagan is the goddess of Northern Colorado Writers and the brains behind the conference. If only I had half her energy…
GutsyWriter says
I’m attending the San Diego State University writers conference January 28-30, with agents and editors. Kelly Sonnack is there too. I’ve signed up with one editor and two agents. You’re only allowed 3 appointments.
Elizabeth Spann Craig/Riley Adams says
Great line-up of agents there! Sounds like a terrific conference.
Jemi Fraser says
I wish I could! Sounds wonderful – I hope you enjoy!!! ๐
welcome to my world of poetry says
Have a great time and a safe journey,
Yvonne.
Kerrie says
I will be there!
Monti says
Wow, Colorado impresses me even though I don’t much care for snowy weather. It must be writer heaven!
Enjoy,
Monti

Oy! Between you luring me to Colorado and Helen Ginger luring me to Texas – alas alack I need to stick close to home this year but NEXT YEAR! Look out!
Patricia Stoltey says
Jane and Margot — I’ll definitely be writing about the conference right here, so stay tuned.
Margot Kinberg says
Patricia – That sounds like a wonderful conference! I won’t be able to attend, but it sounds quite enriching. I hope to hear about it from your great blog posts!
Jane Kennedy Sutton says
I would love to attend, but I know I can’t fit it into my schedule this year. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it, though.
Patricia Stoltey says
Hi Karen, I’m also cutting back on conferences and conventions this year…but I never can resist the two great writing conferences so close to home.
Yes, Terry, the date was changed specifically so it would no longer conflict with LLC. Hope you can make it.
Terry Odell says
Did the date change? I thought this was the same weekend as Left Coast Crime, which is why I didn’t make plans to attend.
