Cirque du Soleil
I’m pretty excited about this afternoon. I signed up for a Senior Center bus to the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado for a matinee performance of the Cirque du Soleil touring performance of Alegria. You’ll have to check out the website, because I already know they don’t allow photos during the performance. There’s a wonderful trailer you might want to watch if you have two and a half minutes.
Last summer I saw a different Cirque du Soleil show called The Beatles: Love at the Mirage in Las Vegas. It was wonderful, as expected. I’m sure Alegria will be equally spectacular.
Writer’s Knowledge Base
Here’s a gift from Elizabeth Spann Craig (aka Riley Adams) that you’ll love if you’re a writer. For some time, she has been collecting writerly articles from across the web and offering up them up on Twitter and her own blog. Now there’s a complete searchable database with all this information at our fingertips. It’s called Writer’s Knowledge Base: The Search Engine for Writers. You’ll want to bookmark this site and return often. And if you want to personally thank Elizabeth, here’s the blog post where she talks about the service.
That’s All, Folks
I mean that’s all for today. I’ll be back Monday.
Meanwhile, I’m going to work hard at catching up on everyone else’s blog posts. There’s so much going on, and I’m starting to feel out of touch.

I’ve only seen one Cirque show in Vegas. I missed a show in Miami recently. I was too slow inquiring about tickets.
I hope you had a great time.

FYI — Alegria was wonderful — but I’ll have to admit I liked the music, a couple of the clown segments and the bizarrely dressed characters even more than I like the gymnastics and acrobatics. It was way more circus-like than the music-focused Beatles event I saw in Las Vegas.
Elizabeth, I haven’t seen the Barnum and Bailey circus since my own kids were small, but I loved it. And remember, you got the bonus horses and elephants which Alegria did not have.

Thanks so much for the mention, Patricia! I really do appreciate it…I’ve been excited about the search engine. π
I’m going to Barnum and Bailey today with my daughter! A little different from Cirque…sigh. Still fun, but more geared for kids, of course.

I’ve seen Cirque du Soleil productions on television and they are very arty. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to afford to see one in person. A new production is going to be opening here in Hollywood at the Kodak Theater this year.
Love Elizabeth’s search engine.

There was a Cirque du Soleil theater in Orlando. We kept meaning to go, but never did. Likewise, when we lived in LA, we kept meaning to go to a Rose Parade.
Sometimes you just have to DO stuff.

I am so jealous!
I have always wanted to see a live showing of the Cirque, but they rarely come to South Africa, and if they are here, the tickets are way to expensive.
Enjoy!
