My final thought for this year’s A to Z Challenge:
I wish I wasn’t quite so zaftig.
Here’s the new profile picture I’ll be adding to my blog and social media sites. You can tell from my plump cheeks that I’ve indulged in a wee bit too much ice cream…
This is who I am–lover of Ben & Jerry’s Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz and TCBY frozen yogurts, fan of dark chocolate from Lindt and Peanut M&Ms, a steak and potatoes kind of woman.
But a little less zaftig would be very nice.

Thanks, Tracy. It was a no pressure challenge since I kept my posts so short and pre-scheduled several at a time. I’ve made more new friends this year too, and that’s the big bonus.
Tracy says
Pat, I’ve never heard of that word but I love it and well, you and me both…love all te things you mentioned but oh wel, you only live once :)Great word and congrats on making it to the end!
Patricia Stoltey says
Alex, you always say the right thing!
Lynn and Lizy, it was great meeting you through the A to Z Challenge. We will definitely stay in touch going forward.
Jenny, I’m not going to ask you what word you’d have chosen instead. π
Stephanie, I’m looking forward to learning more about you as well. It has been a great April A to Z.
Stephanie V says
Zaftig is a romantic word to me. It’s a pleasing word. Your photo is lovely and I look forward to seeing more of it as I follow your posts.
Jenny says
Zaftig is a great word, but I don’t think it fits you! Congratulations on finishing the challenge. I had a great time reading your wish list. I hope they all come true!
And don’t get me started on chocolate and TCBY!

Well I think you look great. When we reach the grey hair age we need a few extra pounds, and chocolate and ice-cream are a painless way to achieve them.
We got through the challenge! Well done us!
Lynn Proctor says
oh you are so lovely–gotta part ways with ya on the chocolate–milk chocolate kinda gal all the way–i hope we keep in touch–i have so enjoyed your take on things–congrats to us!!!

Margot, have you tried the new frozen Greek yogurt TCBY has in some of their shops. I thought it was excellent. (Of course.) π
Hi Donna — thank you. We had an excellent photographer named Norm Rehme do head shots for writers at the Northern Colorado Writers Conference. He did a wonderful job in a short amount of time.
Jan, yes, I know what you mean. Still, just a little less…
Karen, thanks so much for those sweet words. That smile shows you how much I was enjoying myself at the conferene.
Karen Walker says
Pat, I think the picture is gorgeous. What I see is what looks like flawless skin and a killer smile.

Oh Pat – I wish we’d rather like our zaftig-ness! After all I think in the beginning the word meant a woman who was generous and sensual with her body!! Like the women who sat for painters during the renaissance. Wonderful new photo – your dearness shines out!
Donna Volkenannt says
Hi Pat,
Great word choice, but I love your new photo. You don’t look zaftig at all.
Donna
Margot Kinberg says
Pat – What a lovely, lovely picture! Wow! And you’re far from the only one who likes Peanut M&Ms and TCBY.
