The Writing Life: An Invitation to Authors and Other Stuff

May 16, 2012 By: Patricia

Scheduling guest bloggers

If you look in my right sidebar, you’ll see a list of guest bloggers for 2012. You’ll also see I have a lot of openings for guests from July until the end of the year.

Since I love to use these guest spots to promote an author’s recent or upcoming book release, I’m issuing a special invitation to those who have a new book coming out in 2012. If you’d like more information, you can e-mail me through the link at the About Me page. I’ll be glad to send you my basic guest blogger guidelines and schedule you for a guest appearance.

What I’m reading

Now that I’ve made a little more time for reading in my life, I’ve been hustling through a nice stack of books. I finished Duma Key by Stephen King, Ken Harmon’s Ghost Under Foot: The Spirit of Mary Bell (nonfiction), and Wave Me Good-Bye by Teresa Funke (MG story of World War II set in New York City’s Bronx). Now I’m finally reading Tallgrass by Sandra Dallas, a novel I purchased back when Sandra was doing her book tour about 2008. I really am so far behind. It feels good to have reading time set aside again.

The Desert Hedge Murders will soon be available for Kindle and Nook

I have my rights back. My cover art is ready. Now I just need to get that file formatted and uploaded to the two e-book sites. Soon, very soon.

Hi Angela — it’s nice to finally have a little time to read again. It took a log of To Do List juggling to get here.

Alex — There really is a lot going on these days. But today is going to be all about yard work. I heading outside now.

Nutschell — Inviting guests is one of the ways I discover great new books to read, especially from debut authors.

So much going on. Your reading list sounds very intriguing.

Glad you got your rights back to your novel and will be making it available.

Meet Patricia

I read, I write, I blog, and sometimes I do the laundry and cook. My 2014 novel, Dead Wrong, was a finalist in the thriller category of the 2015 Colorado Book Awards. Wishing Caswell Dead (Five Star/Cengage, December 20, 2017) is a historical mystery set in 1830s Illinois in the fictitious Village of Sangamon. The novel was a finalist for the 2018 Colorado Book Awards for General Fiction. Read Moreโ€ฆ
