It might seem like that from time to time, but don’t get to accustomed to more posts rather than less. Except for my pre-scheduled guests and Chiseled in Rock Tuesday, which will continue, I’m going to go with the flow, at least for the summer.
What I’m Reading
I just started Love and Darker Passions (on my Kindle). This is a collection of short stories, some by authors I know through blogging connections.
I finished You Came Back by Christopher Coake last night and thought it was an excellent book. It’s well written, and I liked the ending which was not predictable.
Next on my list is a YA book, Surviving the Angel of Death: The True Story of a Mengele Twin in Auschwitz.
What are you reading?
Next Up
Peg Brantley, author of Red Tide, will be my guest tomorrow and she’s giving away a copy of her book. All you’ll need to do to enter is leave a comment on Peg’s guest post tomorrow or Friday.
Three Authors, Three Questions on Chiseled in Rock Blog
Did you see the great guests I featured yesterday at Chiseled in Rock? Rebecca Cantrell, Andrew Gross, and Sophie Littlefield were kind enough to participate in the Q&A.
What I’m Doing Today
Believe it or not, I will be writing today. I’m finally getting back to my NaNoWriMo novel and hope to add two new chapters.
That’s in addition to grocery shopping, pulling weeds, pre-scheduling guest blog posts, manuscript proofreading, making homemade dark cherry frozen yogurt, and working on interview questions for future blog guests….
Writing and Receiving Real Letters (remember snail mail?)
My dear long-time friend in Indiana and I have begun to communicate with letters, the kind you put real stamps on and drop in a mailbox. We even stopped connecting by e-mail and on Facebook. When I recently sent dear friend a book, she even acknowledged receipt with a cute post card.
If you have a good friend in another part of the country, I wish you’d give old-fashioned letters and packages a try. And hand write your letters instead of typing them. You’ll be surprised at how much you can think of to write about and how much you enjoy receiving a handwritten reply.
Hi Ho, Hi Ho
Yes, it’s off to work I go…even though I’ll be right here in the same chair at the same computer where I write my blog posts. Don’t forget to join us tomorrow and enter the giveaway for a copy of Peg Brantley’s Red Tide.

Hi Patricia .. I can vouch for snail mail letters and cards – they made so much difference to my mother – she always lit up when a letter arrived and I read it out to her ..
In fact I might do that on a regular basis for some of the present residents – something different for them to get …. be read to – or think about …
They certainly stimulated my mother’s mind …
That’s wonderful that you’ve reconnected with your friend in Indiana that way …
Cheers Hilary

Banana frozen yogurt is good too…and mango…and peach. Now I’m making myself hungry again. I don’t have to be a psychic to know what will happen if I churn up all those goodies…

I’m with Jenny…the frozen dark cherry yogurt sounds scrumptous…as does two new chapters!
Just finished a tidy little book called “Are You Psychic?” which I now realize, if I had to buy the book, I should’ve known the answer!

Blogs tend to grow and change, as do their authors. I, for one, expect that. But then, I’ve seen my blogs grow and change, too.
As long as you continue to find meaning and joy in your writing, of whatever form, best to keep on writing.
But then, what does a Bear know?

My sister and I have been exchanging snail mail letters this year. It’s such a nice surprise to find one in my mailbox. But her penmanship is awful 🙂
Cherry frozen yogurt sounds wonderful!

Good morning (almost noon), everyone. Only one more errand to go and I’ll have the rest of the afternoon for writing. It’s hotter than blazes here today (and the rest of the week according to forecasts), so my little fan will get a workout.
May your day be joyful and your writing inspired…

homemade yogurt sounds great—-and old fashioned letters–i still do them 🙂

Writing is good! And outside of thank you cards, I can’t remember the last time I received a real letter.

I pulled out my NaNo novel about a month ago and I’m loving working on it. It’s not nearly as bad as I feared! 🙂 Have fun with yours 🙂

Pat – it’s a treat to have you back instead of your guests! Your YA book sounds like a grim read – real life too, which “We need to talk about Kevin” is not. That was the book I actually gave up on after 150 pages. Now I am trying to read a book a friend gave me – “The Calligrapher’s Secret” by Rafik Shami.
And I too will be writin today.

Pat – I really did enjoy your interviews yesterday! And it’s so good that you’re taking time to focus on your writing today. It sounds like you’ve got some interesting books you’re been reading too. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them.
As to writing letters? I admit I’ve gotten terrible about that with the prevalence of email *sigh*.
