Tuesday Stuff

August 21, 2012 By: Patricia

Chiseled in Rock Tuesday

And yay, it’s “Three Authors, Three Questions” Day at the Rock. Our guests this month are urban fantasy author Jeanne C. Stein, sci fi author Nathan Lowell, and mystery/thriller/mainstream novelist Michael Murphy.  If you want to see what these authors had to say, boogie on over to Chiseled in Rock.

Thursday’s Guest

I’m delighted to welcome Michael Haskins to my blog on Thursday. Michael is the author of the Mick Murphy Key West Mystery Series and has a new book, Car Wash Blues, coming out in September from Five Star/Cengage.

Genre Favorites Blogfest

Want to join me and other bloggers on September 17, 2012, for the Alex J. Cavanaugh sponsored Genre Favorites Blogfest?

Genre Favorites Blogfest
September 17, 2012
One blogfest, four favorites!
List your favorite genre of:
Movie
Music
Books
And a guilty pleasure genre from any of the three categories!

Why would you want to?

Well, you get to put this cool badge on your blog.

It’s only a one-day commitment. It’s an easy, fun topic. And you get the chance to meet some new bloggers and exchange blog visits/comments.

If you’re interested, hop over to Alex’s blog and sign up on his linky list, then put the blogfest on your calendar so you don’t forget. Snag the badge and post it on your blog. Help spread the word with a little post like this one. The last time I checked, there were 118 participants signed up.

The Tuesday Question

My favorite breakfast at home is an organic blueberry toaster pastry (no frosting), toasted and buttered, with one mini-Babybel lowfat cheese, and coffee. Lots of coffee. And the morning paper.

My favorite in a restaurant is the sweet potato pancakes, bacon, and coffee at Snooze in Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado.

What’s your favorite breakfast at home and/or in a restaurant?

I always start the day with fresh fruit and natural yogurt. It’s usually melon, grapes and peaches if they’re ripe enough. Failing that I grate an apple into yogurt. Fascinating to hear different breakfast choices. Mr A has toast and marmalade every day without fail!

Margot, I’m with you on that thing for black coffee. Love it!

Alex, you’re most welcome. My hubby doesn’t eat breakfast either. I, however, get very grouchy if I don’t get food in the morning.

Hi Lynn –I like waffles too. The Belgian ones I have in my freezer are quite good, but since I’ve been on my toaster pastry kick, the poor waffles have been neglected.

Wow, you had had to mention biscuits and gravy, Lee? That’s something I love but just can’t eat anymore because of the calories. I gain weight if I even look at this wonderful food.

Breakfast is my favorite meal and I don’t know that I could just pick one favorite. I am mighty partial to biscuits and gravy and though I rarely get it I like good ol’ unhealthy country ham.

I’m doing the Genre Blogfest on my memoir blog since Tossing It Out still has a full guest schedule until the end of September.

well although it is not my favorite–i have been eating frozen waffles, almost daily for quite a while now—but if i was to eat breakfast out—i would probably pig out and have pancakes and an omelet–love that question!

    Thanks for mentioning my blogfest!
And I’m really not a breakfast eater.

Pat – I will definitely hop over and check out your “Three Authors, Three Questions” feature. I love “meeting” new authors. And I’ll be looking forward to Michael’s visit on Thursday too. As for breakfast? It must include black coffee. A lot of it. And I’m an omelet person when I go out for breakfast (which I must confess is very rare).

Meet Patricia

I read, I write, I blog, and sometimes I do the laundry and cook. My 2014 novel, Dead Wrong, was a finalist in the thriller category of the 2015 Colorado Book Awards. Wishing Caswell Dead (Five Star/Cengage, December 20, 2017) is a historical mystery set in 1830s Illinois in the fictitious Village of Sangamon. The novel was a finalist for the 2018 Colorado Book Awards for General Fiction. My most recent release, In Defense of Delia (Five Star/Cengage, November 2022), is available in hardcover and will soon be available in ebook and trade paperback. Read More…
