Chiseled in Rock Tuesday
I’m happy to announce a few new releases from members of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers at Chiseled in Rock blog. I hope you’ll hop over and see if there’s something you’d like to add to your TBR list.
Still Looking for Guests Posts
I have Thursday guest spots open September 27th and two dates in October.
I’m doing NaNoWriMo again in November so anyone wanting to make an appearance here that month will have to submit their materials way early. I want to get them formatted and pre-scheduled before November 1st. My e-mail contact is in the left sidebar of my profile, so please use that method to contact me if you want to be on my schedule.
An Interview with Michael Murphy
In honor of the anniversary of Woodstock, and because Michael has written a love story, Goodbye Emily, that begins at the festival, I have interviewed him for this Thursday’s guest post. I think you’ll enjoy meeting him.
Are You in Query-Writing Mode?
Not to discourage anyone, merely to educate, let me point you to literary agent Kristin Nelson’s blog post, “68 Queries in 60 Minutes.
What I’m Reading
I’m close to finishing White Horse by Alex Adams, but I haven’t decided what to read next for sure. I’m leaning toward a reread of On the Beach by Nevil Shute.
A Dog, A Cat, and a Rooster by Pat Helm
Here’s a new book for young readers that sounds entertaining, written by a good friend’s sister and published by World Audience Publishers. The book has a charming story:
“A pampered pup, a doomed shelter cat, and a wayward rooster are ordinary animals acting in extraordinary ways. Clover, C.C., and Early Bird’s antics and endearing behavior toward one another gives the reader an example and a deeper understanding of how animals of different species form lifelong friendships. Welcome to their world.”
The book can be ordered through Kyle Torke at torke.kyle@gmail.com
The Tuesday Question
What movie did you watch most recently and where did you watch it? The last movie I saw was before the Olympics when I watched Joyful Noise (Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah) on DVD at home.

I was a little surprised to find a new actor as Bourne in the Legacy movie, Alex, but I’ve heard it’s pretty good.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
I saw The Bourne Legacy in theaters on Friday and The Darkest Hour (Russian science fiction film) on NetFlix yesterday. I can only recommend the first one!

Oops, I meant to mention that I love Evita too, Margot. I thought Madonna did a wonderful job, I love Antonio Banderas, and the music in the show is excellent.

After I posted this last night, I immediately watched another DVD (after all, no more Olympics to watch): We Bought a Zoo. I thought it was charming and fun with interesting and quirky characters.
Margot Kinberg says
Pat – I will definitely check out your “what’s new post.” And I am really interested in your interview with Michael Murphy – so cool! I also appreciate those links. As to your movie question? My most recent view was the very well-done Evita. I’ve seen it a few times before, and loved it. What a great musical.
