Come one, come all…but especially writers at every level. I feature writers from beginning to multi-published, both traditional and indie.
I’m now opening up my calendar for guest writers/authors/bloggers for January through March of 2013. I’ll schedule guests for Thursdays, and when needed (especially to accommodate authors on blog book tours), I’ll also feature guests on Mondays.
I will not feature any guests for the whole month of April while I participate in the A to Z Blogging Challenge. I tried to weave in both last year and it was confusing…for me, mostly.
Although I prefer to showcase authors with new books coming out, that’s not an absolute requirement. If you have an idea that relates to books, authors, or the writing life in an interesting way, let me hear it.
I like funny, so if you can write humor on some aspect of reading or writing in 500-700 words, let me see it.
If you can send photos (ones you took and to which you own the rights) to illustrate your post, especially funny photos, that’s even better.
If you click on my profile, you’ll find a link to an e-mail address. Use that to contact me. I’ll send you my submission guidelines and work with you to select a date.

Hi Lizy — sorry to take so long to respond. I have guests on my blog because I love to promote writers and give them a chance to reach a new audience. It’s also the reason I contribute to Chiseled in Rock (the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers blog) and do a monthly “What’s New?” post to showcase members’ new books. I guess it comes from being a lover of all things bookish and the camaraderie among writerly folk.
Blogs can serve a variety of purposes, depending on the intent and personality of the blogger. That’s one of the things that’s so much fun about cruising through the followers at Alex J. Cavanaugh’s blog. Every type of blogger imaginable is there.

Patricia – can you explain to me why you open your blog to other people? I thought a blog was a place for you to air your own thoughts, and this blog-hi-jacking seems very strange to me.

Alex, snarky is great as long as it’s not political. I’ll be in touch.
Thanks, Margot. I love meeting and working with authors from all genres. Writers are such cool people.
Excellent, Lorelei. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

I’d love to be featured at your blog, Patricia! I’ll send an email.

Pat – Thanks for opening up your blog to guests. It’s a very kind way to give other authors a boost.

No new book for a while, although I can do snarky.
