If you haven’t participated in this fun blog challenge yet, you might want to give it a try this year. It’s a wonderful way to make new blogger and writer friends, and it’s a super way to get yourself in a regular blogging and blog-hopping routine.
During the A to Z challenge, participants post each day except Sunday, which magically works out to 26 posts, each title/topic using the letters of the alphabet (in order, of course).
I tried posting random topics one year, but found the whole month is easier if I develop a theme.
Tips from my own experience:
1. Keep your posts relatively short — I’n more likely to follow/read those that are 300 words or less.
2. Illustrate posts using your own photographs or art work.
3. Humor gets a lot of hits and attracts more followers.
4. Limit your guest bloggers and other regular features during the month. Last year I ended up having to write two separate posts several times during the month.

Thanks for the tips. I’m new to the A to Z challenge and can use all the advice I can get. I’m excited, though. I mean, look, I found you this way. Although, I too write fiction, my blog is not. It’s about managing conflict: http://www.conflicttango.com
…and since I’m writing a mystery–murder is the ultimate execution of a conflict–seems like a good fit.

I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do, Yolanda. I’ve made lots of blogger friends this way.

Thanks for the suggestions, this will be my first year and I’ll take it gladly!

Ouch, Alex. I just went back to look at the linky list and saw the warning…did I cause that? I feel like I really should stand in the corner. I felt like such a dummy… π
Thanks for fixing my link, though.

Laura, would you believe I just went over to sign up and screwed up my link? Now I have to wait for it to be deleted before I can try again. Apparently I had not absorbed enough caffeine to function properly…

Those are great tips. I’m signed up! Having trouble (as usual) with X. π

I’ll a theme, Margot, but haven’t decided what it will be yet. It will most likely have something to do with books this year.

Pat – I admire people who take on challenges like this one. And I’m always so interested to see what people come up with for the given letter. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
