Northern Colorado Writers Conference 2013
The best little conference in Northern Colorado is scheduled for April 26-27 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Sponsored by Kerrie Flanagan’s Northern Colorado Writers, this year’s attendance will be capped at 125 registered participants. With a group this size, you’ll have the chance to meet almost everyone, including the agents and editors who attend.
The keynote speaker this year is author, travel writer, and actor Andrew McCarthy. And everyone attending gets a copy of Andrew’s book, The Longest Way Home.
For more information about the conference and to register, visit the Northern Colorado Writers website.
This year we have added a master class on scene development on Friday morning. Trai Cartwright will be the instructor.
Top of the Mountain Book Award
The deadline for entering the Top of the Mountain Book Award contest is March 1, 2013. This award is open to all writers, not just those who are members of NCW. Click on the link for more information, including categories.
As writer April Moore noted in her blog post January 23: “You do not have to attend the conference to win, but it’s a great opportunity to swagger your bad-ass writer self on stage and be recognized for your amazing writing talent in front of your peers, agents, and editors.”
I couldn’t have put it better.
April Moore says
Thanks, Pat! The conference is going to be a lot of fun and I hope we can get you aspiring authors to submit to the contest!

You’re very welcome, Kerrie. I seem to get more excited each year, but that’s probably because you and your creative team keep making the conference better and better. 😀
Kerrie says
Pat, thanks for highlighting the conference and for your kind words about the event. I am looking forward to another great conference this year and to meeting Andrew McCarthy. 🙂
Patricia Stoltey says
Sounds great, Steve. I’d be honored.
Stephen Tremp says
Patricia, you have so many interesting guests on your blog. And you have interesting profile. I’d like to have you as a guest blogger and you can share your experiences with your Colorodians groups.
Patricia Stoltey says
Margot, when are we going to see you visit one of the very cool conferences or conventions in Colorado? I was hoping you’d be unable to resist Left Coast Crime in Colorado Springs this March.
Diane, I agree. Kerrie Flanagan does a great job in getting interesting speakers for this conference.
L. Diane Wolfe says
Andrew McCarthy! What a great headliner.
Margot Kinberg says
Pat – Thanks for the update on the conference and book award. Both sound terrific and I’m always impressed with the quality of what’s reported from the NCW conference.
