Chiseled in Rock
Shannon Baker, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer member and author of Tainted Mountain, a Nora Abbott mystery, is our guest blogger today at the Rock. Her post, “Don’t Worry, Be Hopi” is about research, the Hopi culture, and planting seeds. You’ll find it all at Chiseled in Rock blog.
Trolling for Guest Bloggers
I’m looking for traditionally-published crime fiction authors with new book releases, authors/bloggers who write funny stuff (including about their pets), and incredibly unique posts about the writing life.
There’s a contact e-mail in my profile (see top right sidebar). I try to schedule Thursdays first and then add Mondays or Saturdays if needed. You can see the open dates on the schedule in the right sidebar. Let me know if you’re interested.
Crazy People Who Love Snow
I’m one of those funny people who love winter and snow even though I don’t ski, snowshoe, snowboard, or any of that stuff. My winter sport is curling up in an easy chair with a warm afghan, a cup of tea or hot chocolate, and a good book. That’s what I did Saturday afternoon, and it was great.
I’m reading Sign of the Weeping Virgin by Alana White in print and Wicked Autumn by G. M. Maillet on my Nook tablet.
What are you reading?

I just finished “Soccer Dad”…neh…okay.
Started Faith Alive by Erika Nossokoff (coolest author last name.
Would love to finish that while flying to Wendy aka Quillfeather place where it never snows and the brown trout are HUGE!

I love the winter too, although it never snows in New Zealand (where I live).
Currently reading The Lord of The Rings – again. Just love it.

Shannon’s story of the background of her book was fascinating. I hope people visit Chiseled– great story.
I’m finishing a Tracy Kidder book, “My Detachment”. I love cold winters for snuggling and reading and warm summer days for sitting on the deck and reading. I’m very adaptable. 😉

Pat – Thanks for letting us know what’s going on at CIR. And you’re not the only one who likes snow. I miss it very much actually as there isn’t any where I live.
