Well, darn. I’m not going to make my word count today.
I had to clean house before the cleaning gal came, take Katie Cat outside on her harness and leash, take a nap, and get caught up on my Northern Colorado Writers and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers chores. And then I pooped out.
The good news: I’m going to do a two-day NaNo sprint tomorrow and Saturday. I have high hopes I’ll not only get caught up but will have lots of words stored up for another day off a little later in the month. Like Thanksgiving Day, for instance.
This evening I’m going to take stock of what I’ve written so far and do a little planning with the hopes of laying out the rest of the story.
I know. That’s very unlike me.
But it’s also unlike me to write every day.
Having 10,000+ words down in six days feels awesome. On a Friday evening to Sunday morning retreat I can churn out 13,000 to 15,000 words during the quiet writing sessions. If I could do that during my two-day sprint, I’d be close to halfway done by the end of Saturday.
I sure wish I could keep that up for the next year. Just think how many first drafts I could finish.

Lizy, I’m going to do the A-Z Challenge too. I’m such a glutton for punishment.
Thanks, LD. I think I’ll make it.
LD Masterson says
Keep at it. You’ll be caught up and even ahead of schedule.

~I have enough difficulty with the A-Z Challenge!

Making progress, Susan. I’m caught up to yesterday and ready to start on today. Must rest first. ๐

Clean the house before the cleaning lady arrives?
Have fun with all those words this weekend.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I’m already doing warmup exercises.

You’ll catch up! Good luck with your sprints. ๐

Alex, most women seem to understand but most men laugh. I guess it’s a woman thing.
Margot, it was just too beautiful outside not to take Katie Cat outside grasshoppers. All the rest was fluff.

Pat – I know how you feel. I have days like that too where life gets in the way of my writing life. I give you so much credit for doing NaNoWriMo. One slip ain’t going to mean you don’t get there.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
Sounds like you’ll have no trouble catching up. Just keep writing!
Clean the house before the cleaning girl came? Funny, my mother does the same thing…
