I have a special Sunday guest this weekend. I hope you’ll stop by to meet Bryan Cohen and learn why all writers should take an improv class. I’m almost convinced to try it myself. You might be, too, after reading Bryan’s post.
If you love cats, and you didn’t spot this link on Facebook, you really must go HERE. I laughed out loud because so many of the photos and captions applied to Miss Kitty (aka Katie Cat) and me.
Have you read Wool? I’m almost done with that book and I’m actually reading the last section slower than necessary because I don’t want it to end. This is a post-apocalyptic tale that was first self-published as a series of short novels. Somehow the buzz got started (a writer’s dream), and Hugh Howey attracted an agent and a big publisher. The short novels were released in one volume. This is the kind of success story we love to hear, isn’t it? You can learn a lot more about Hugh Howey and his books at his website.
We had a 40 degree drop in temperature from Wednesday to Thursday and a lovely little snow. I did not go out to make a snowman, nor did I help my husband shovel the sidewalks and driveway. I did, however, watch the snow and the shoveling through the window while enjoying a cup of coffee. And I made a pot of chili. And cornbread. Yum!
And that’s all I have on my mind. Please don’t forget to stop by on Sunday to meet my special guest.

I did stop by and glad I did. Improv sounds like fun on a lot of levels.
Chili and cornbread? Oh, yss. Perfect for this cold beginning of winter.
Thanks for the helpful posts, Pat.

Margot, I missed the change of seasons so much when I lived in Florida. I love fall the most.

pat – Hmmm, an improv class. Interesting! And now you’ve got me wanting to read Wool. And about the weather? I miss actual weather changes…

Hi Hilary — My TBR list is really long as well, and my Kindle is overflowing with unread novels. We just need more hours in our days.

HI Patricia .. I’d rather we didn’t have snow just yet! Luckily none here .. but it’s colder outside. Your chilli and cornbread sounds good!!
Wool – I haven’t read it .. and read really good reviews and then sort of look and think – is that for me .. with a TBR list a mile long – so for now it’s still in the store or somewhere snowing around the digital era!
Cheers and happy weekend .. Hilary
