And that is a biggie.
I had a very messy office, but I have promised myself to clean up and file and shred and organize until I have the floor and all table tops cleared.
Then I’m going to get rid of some of the furniture.
And do my best to keep my office tidy in the future.
Please do not snort coffee all over your keyboard. I’m very serious….this time.
Now, while I have your attention, are you aware that you can now register for the 2014 A to Z Blogging Challenge held in April?
Registration is here at the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge site. If you want to know more about the challenge, check out the “What is Blogging from A to Z?” page. I’m signed up.
Come on. You know you want to.

Hi Patricia .. I’m snorting dust – as I’m doing the same .. just got the paper to sort and file etc .. rather a lot, as some is from my mother’s time in hospital …
But I signed up for the A-Z .. and I need the space to get writing ..
Cheers and I’m sure much more of that carpet is showing now?! Hilary

LD, I’m impressed. I hardly ever make 80%. ๐
LD Masterson says
Hey, I may be ahead of you. I can see about 80% of my carpet (not counting what’s supposed to be covered by furniture) and I uncovered almost all on my desk. Now I need to figure out what to do with the rest of this stuff.
I’m not up to the A-Z challenge but I’ll visit when I can.
Patricia Stoltey says
Pat, I do have a cluttered mind, that’s for sure. Maybe that’s why I’m feeling the pressure to clean up my work space.
Moody, it comes from biting off way more than we can chew…and having no time to swallow. Or something like that. ๐
mooderino says
I occasionally clear up my writing area. Yet somehow it all turns back into mayhem I turn my back. It’s like a magic trick.

Well Patricia, my granny used to say that, “The clear sign of a cluttered mind, is an uncluttered desk.”
I’ve always had clutter in both places.
Patricia Stoltey says
Karen — and there you hit the nail on the head. Will it last? Oh, my, I hope so. But no writer’s block here. I’m thrilled with my new projects and just want to be able to move around my office without tripping over the mess and breaking my neck.
KK Brees says
A clean desk is the sign of a mind that’s experiencing writer’s block. But, seriously, good for you. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Patricia Stoltey says
Hi Susan! I’d do a lot better if I’d stop printing things out. Save a few trees too.
Kay, I’ve made a little progress. I can now get to my computer without navigating an obstacle course.
And an extra note to Lee — did you ever think for one minute the A to Z Challenge would grow so big?
Patricia Stoltey says
I’d hate to miss the A to Z in April, Alex and Lee! I’ve met some of the nicest bloggers in the world because of this challenge.
Karen, I hope your travels are for fun!
Margot, it’s all about establishing new habits…and I’m better at bad habits than good.
Diane, I’d love to go to hardwood floors. I need to give that some serious thought.
Arlee Bird says
Your office sounds like my office. I keep meaning to do something about it, but, well, you know how that goes.
Glad you’re doing the A to Z again!

Hope your implementation is better than my intentions.
Susan Gourley/Kelley says
Since I became a full time writer, I’ve been keeping my office much cleaner. Only a few things on the floor.
Loving that A to Z challenge.
L. Diane Wolfe says
LOL! That’s how I feel as I attempt to clear out my office for the guys to come rip up the carpet on Friday and put down nice hardwood floors. I need to make sure they can be seen afterwards.
Margot Kinberg says
Pat – No, I’m not laughing at all. I put my office together a little over a year ago and it was a real project. I give you credit.
Karen Walker says
Not snorting here either but I don’t think I’ll up for the challenge this year. Will be traveling in April and and and, sigh!
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
I’m not snorting anything!
Glad you are making order out of chaos.
And glad you are on board for the Challenge!
