First of all, you still have time to leave a comment on Carol Van Natta’s Monday post (I Got Hit by the Cross-Genre Bus) to earn a chance to win a copy of one of her books if you get it done by midnight tonight (Mountain Time). I’ll be picking the winner tomorrow. Here’s the link: https://patriciastolteybooks.com/2016/06/i-got-hit-by-the-cross-genre-bus-by-carol-van-natta/
I have a guest post up at Northern Colorado Writers’ The Writing Bug blog. It’s all about getting out of the writing rut…and never giving up.
I have a couple of blog posts to recommend:
J.C. Lynne, author of The Esau Emergence and The Esau Convergence, was the featured wellness writer June 15th on Colleen Story’s Writing and Wellness Blog. J.C. is a good example of what it takes to be a writer: determination and perseverance.
And at the best new blog ever, Rogue Women Writers, thriller writer Christine Goff has posted Spies and Other Interesting Characters. While you’re there, check out the other posts and the contributor bios. If you like to read mysteries and thrillers, you’ll enjoy this blog a lot.
The Northern Colorado Writers Top of the Mountain writing contest will open in a few months. Kathryn Mattingly will be running the contest this year and she has some great advice for those who plan to submit their work. Join us here tomorrow for “Key Elements in a Writing Contest” and see what you need to do to polish up that manuscript and make it contest ready.
Politics: I’m still following my “Don’t” resolution from the beginning of the year in which I vowed I would not post updates on Facebook or tweets on Twitter about politics during this election year. I sure wish everyone else had made a similar “Don’t” resolution. I find I’m spending less time on social media because of election year hysteria. Of course, if you post a cute animal video on Facebook, that’s different. I like cute animal videos.
