There was no Saturday Report this week because I had nothing new to talk about. It’s just the same-old walking/standing practice with some physical therapy thrown in to speed things along. Working on the same old novel in progress. Yada yada…
There is no book review today because I’m still reading Make It Stick: The Science of Successful Learning by Peter C. Brown. I’m reading this book very slowly in an effort to successfully learn everything I need to know to make it stick when I start studying my next learning projects….especially that camera I still haven’t figured out (although I’m getting very good at charging the battery). I took a half day class last year trying to learn all there was to know about this camera and none of it stuck. Let’s hope Brown’s book teaches me a better way of learning.
None of that seems like too much of an effort, right?
So why do I feel snowed under as I try to get back into my normal routine?
Three months of sitting in my favorite chair while my husband waited on me hand and foot and did all the chores made me forget how much time I spend daily on errands and routine tasks. Appointments. That extra run to the grocery store. Pulling weeds (which I haven’t done yet this year at all so they’ve taken over my four garden boxes). And naps–let’s not forget Pat’s cat naps.
Oh, there is one new thing. I decided to try Camp NaNoWriMo again in July, continuing the project I started during the April Camp which I abandoned after about 17,000 words. Maybe I can make a little more headway this time. I like the camps because I can set a lower word count goal than the traditional November 50,000 words. Less pressure.
Have you tried the NaNoWriMo camps yet?
