Reading at BookBar in Denver and other totally unrelated comments

April 30, 2018 By: Patricia

I had the best time ever on Friday evening when I read excerpts from Wishing Caswell Dead at the 2018 Colorado Book Award finalist event for general fiction, literary fiction, and poetry categories. BookBar in Denver was the location. What a great place! A bar and a bookstore, all in one awesome package. I always …Read More

What’s going on at your #amwriting spot?

April 24, 2018 By: Patricia

I’m sad to say not much actual writing has been going on in my favorite #amwriting place, which is my little office upstairs in the front corner of the house overlooking the court. I’ve hung out on social media a little, watched the pygmy nuthatch and the woodpecker jog up and down the tree out …Read More

What the Heck Happened to January?

February 1, 2018 By: Patricia

It’s All About the Book

December 22, 2017 By: Patricia

Sometimes, it seems there’s nothing else going on in my life  except for the book. Then I think about other little things I’ve done…like the day I baked two batches of banana-blueberry muffins and five batches of traditional Party Mix. Today I went to the library and stocked up on movies so I can do …Read More

Recovering from NaNoWriMo and Planning for 2018 (Lots of Planning!!!)

December 4, 2017 By: Patricia

The Joy of This Year’s NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) Experience I didn’t intend to take the whole month of November off from my blog, but that’s how it worked out. Once I started working on a new project for NaNoWriMo, I got swept up in plot and characters and a few side trips to …Read More

Random Stuff: Hey, There’s a Dead Guy, Colorado Gold, and Big Brother

September 12, 2017 By: Patricia

I’ve been such a dud at blogging this summer as I try to pull my To Dos into a manageable list, determine my daily and weekly priorities as Colleen M. Story suggests in her new release, Overwhelmed Writer Rescue, and set some long-term goals. After all, I’m getting older and we only have so much …Read More

Meet Patricia

I read, I write, I blog, and sometimes I do the laundry and cook. My 2014 novel, Dead Wrong, was a finalist in the thriller category of the 2015 Colorado Book Awards. Wishing Caswell Dead (Five Star/Cengage, December 20, 2017) is a historical mystery set in 1830s Illinois in the fictitious Village of Sangamon. The novel was a finalist for the 2018 Colorado Book Awards for General Fiction. Read More…
