Recording for Radio
Yesterday I joined J. P. McKinney, Nancy L. Reed, and E.A. Cook to record an interview with our esteemed host of Between the Pages (and frequent blogger here because he keeps twisting my arm until I holler Uncle) for our local community KRFC radio….a station primarily staffed by volunteers who benefit by learning all kinds of stuff about radio. I’d never done anything like that before so I had a ball observing and trying to think of pithy answers to Rich’s questions. Rather than pithy, I think I was boring, but that’s how we learn, right? I’ll listen to the show on Sunday afternoon and see how I sounded. Later there will be a link to the recording so others can listen too.
If you’re on Facebook, you can find the Between the Pages Facebook page and see photos of the four of us doing our readings. You might notice that we’re all “of a certain age” although Ed Cook and Rich Keller are kids compared to the rest of us. Basically the interview was about writers who take up the craft late in life, after retirement from various fields from academics to accounting.
Tomorrow’s Guest Blogger
On May 11, 2015, I talked about Robert Spiller’s new release Napier’s Bones. I’m a big fan of his Bonnie Pinkwater (math teacher) mystery series, so I invited Bob to be my guest blogger this month. He’ll be here tomorrow!
Biting Off More Than I Can Chew!
Yes, I’m at it again. On top of all the other stuff I have to do, I signed up for July Camp NaNoWriMo. We’ll see what happens.
On another note, and one that gives me a little more time to get some writing and other chores done, my August 3rd total knee replacement surgery has been cancelled. If you can keep up with the insanity which is my life, you’ll remember the January date was cancelled because the surgeon ruptured a tendon in her wrist. Then the April surgery was cancelled because I broke a bone in my foot and had to fix that and recover. And now, my knee surgeon needs surgery on her wrists and hands due to arthritis so she’s done for the foreseeable future. I’m off to see a new doc on July 17th.
Corinne O’Flynn was talking to me when she wrote her Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers blog post, “Are You Pantsing Through Your Writing Life?” I’m kind of scared to follow her advice and look at a whole year-at-a-glance, but maybe it will help.
Don’t forget. Robert Spiller. Here. Tomorrow. Book giveaway too!

Sorry to hear that your surgery is postponed again. Surgeons needing surgery! I hope you’re able to find a good doc to take care of you soon.
Thanks for the shout out on my RMFW post. π
I hope you give it a try and find it helps.

You’re very welcome, Corinne. Looking at a whole year of my planned activities may freak me out though. π
I have an appointment set up with a new surgeon later this month, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed — I sure would like to get this knee thing over with.

Good luck with Camp NaNo!
I bet you weren’t boring.
Sorry your surgery keeps getting postponed.

Thanks, Alex! I sure would like to have things go really well this month. My 2015 record is not very good. π
