I spend a fair share of my social media time each week reading blog posts. Links with interesting titles or from interesting people show up on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and in my own email Inbox. Here are a few of my recent favorites:
“Why Social Media is Still Your Best Path to Book Visibility” by Anne R. Allen. This post made me feel better about not having a newsletter and having no intention of starting one.
“8 Blogging Tips for Writers to Find Success” by Robert Lee Brewer at Writer’s Digest. This is a good companion piece for Anne R. Allen’s post mentioned above.
“The Love That Dare Not Appear in Print” by David Corbett at Writer Unboxed. I never in a million years would have thought of this as a blog post topic, yet I found it fascinating.
“10 Tools to Keep Writers Out of the Doctor’s Office” by Colleen M. Story at Writing and Wellness. Some of the items Colleen mentions are common sense or things we’ve heard before, but it never hurts to be reminded. Plus, even though I have scratchy eyes from time to time, it had never occurred to me to keep a bottle of moisturizing eye drops by my computer.
“My Secret Battle with Writer’s Block” by Mary Gillgannon at the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers’ Blog. It’s comforting to know even a seasoned writer sometimes goes through a dry spell.
On a more personal note, I recently discovered a new way to waste nice long blocks of time when I don’t feel like working. I tried hanging a hummingbird feeder again and now have a regular visitor. I spend a lot of time watching for her. Here she is…
