This is the best I could do with the photos, but I think they’re clear enough to show the two animals calmly sharing a big sunny space.
When Katie Cat remains quiet, Sassy ignores her. But when the cat makes a fast move, Sassy’s chase alarm goes off. It’s unclear whether the cat triggers the chase on purpose or not. She does seem to know that tiptoeing across the room is much safer.
I’m trying to keep the camera handy because I’d love to get a photo of one of the nose-to-nose touches. So far, I haven’t moved fast enough to get the job done.
L. Diane Wolfe says
I bet the chase is a game to Katie Cat. She probably laughs, knowing Sassy won’t ever catch her.
Patricia says
Hi Diane! I suspect you’re right. The cat is a big tease.
Margot Kinberg says
That’s a fabulous set of ‘photos, Pat! And it’s very good to hear that they’re getting along. They’re both lucky to have you.
Patricia says
I’m not fast enough sometimes to get the good pictures. The camera is always just out of reach, or the critters move too fast. I need to work on this.
Donna Volkenannt says
So sweet how they’re sharing sunny space.
Patricia says
Hi Donna! No sunny space available today, so Sassy is snoozing in her downstairs bed and Katie is curled up on the back of the couch. Still, they’re in the same room and all is calm.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
Looks like they are finally relaxing around each other.
I’m sure Katie knows if she runs, there are places she can get to where Sassy can’t follow.
Patricia says
Katie Cat has two towers and lots of high places where Sassy won’t bother her. She occasionally lets herself get backed into a corner in the kitchen, and that’s when she uses a powerful hiss to make Sassy back off. It’s bizarre to see all this unfold — Sassy is not good with other dogs and will act aggressive, even toward big dogs. Yet she figured out right away that she mustn’t act that way with the cat.
