W is for Why?: My A to Z Wish List

April 26, 2012 By: Patricia

I wish I knew why…

1.  The phone rings as soon as I get in the shower.

2.  One day I feel efficient and organized and a couple of days later I feel as though I’m trying to stroll through quicksand.

3.  Katie Cat seems to know when it’s 6:45 AM and starts telling me it’s almost time for me to get up, and seems to know when it’s 11:30 AM, the exact time I take a break and play with her, etc.

4. Products I become very fond of get discontinued.

5. Television shows I like get cancelled, sometimes before the first season is over.

6. Some songs bring back memories so powerful I feel as though I’m living that moment over again.

7. I’m so worried about black holes when there’s nothing I can do about them.

If anyone has an answer, please leave a comment  and enlighten me.

I just recently fell in love with an old show that was on reruns – it would come on twice each night and I would tape them and watch all the episodes. I moved this week, and the new cable does not have the channel for that show. Sucks.

Sorry I don’t have answers… I guess it is a part of life for us to live with disappointment.

Some of these are the same questions I have, especially 4-6.

I’d like to know too! I’d also like to know why traffic lights know when you’re in a hurry and they turn red!

Hello, Patricia! I’m waiting for answers to these questions, too, hahaha. I always wonder why it’s so hard to get up early during the week, but on the weekend I wake up early when it’s perfectly okay to sleep in if I want. Sigh!

Have a lovely week and happy A to Z!!

I sometimes think music is as strong a memory trigger as smell. Excellent ‘w’ post, Pat!

Favourite items becoming discontinued, is so frustrating.

Why is a great W post!

Pat – I have no answers unfortunately but I know exactly what you mean! I’ve got that sort of “why” list of my own. Maybe sometimes it’s better not to ask ;-).

Meet Patricia

I read, I write, I blog, and sometimes I do the laundry and cook. My 2014 novel, Dead Wrong, was a finalist in the thriller category of the 2015 Colorado Book Awards. Wishing Caswell Dead (Five Star/Cengage, December 20, 2017) is a historical mystery set in 1830s Illinois in the fictitious Village of Sangamon. The novel was a finalist for the 2018 Colorado Book Awards for General Fiction. My most recent release, In Defense of Delia (Five Star/Cengage, November 2022), is available in hardcover and will soon be available in ebook and trade paperback. Read More…
