Barnes and Noble has announced the Nook is now available in the UK. The Prairie Grass Murders and The Desert Hedge Murders are available at the uk.nook.com website.

I love reading the posts at Time Management Ninja, and this one, “10 Reasons You Should Stop Reading the News,” grabbed my attention. I used to be a news junkie. It’s not working for me anymore. I recommend the post for your reading pleasure.
The Reading (and Baking) Season
Even though I read a lot all year around, it seems like curling up with a good book is more fun on cold dreary days. I just finished Stay Close by Harlan Coben and am trying to decide what’s next. I’m leaning toward The Lantern by Deborah Lawrenson. So many books, so little time.
But that’s not what I’m doing today. I’m making banana/blueberry muffins, banana/chocolate chip muffins, and pumpkin gingerbread muffins. Some of them will be for the Northern Colorado Writers holiday craft market and the rest will go in the freezer (at least the ones I don’t slather with butter and consume as soon as I take them out of the oven).

As for the news, I love reading the paper in the morning while I have my coffee, but I tend to go for the local articles covering business, causes, writers, sports, etc. Financial news used to be so important, but now it’s so tied up with politics it’s a useless exercise.

Pat – Mmmm, I’m getting hungry just reading the end of your post. Thanks too for the tip about that time-saving book. I often wish I had 30 hours in a day besides what I need for sleep *sigh.*

I’m not a big news junkie anymore either. I scan headlines just to make sure I know what’s going on in the world, but that’s about it.
I love holiday baking and finding a cozy FUN read. (If I can keep myself from dissecting it to learn their success secrets. Sigh. Reading used to be so easy.)
