Western Slope at Chiseled in Rock and Giveaways

March 5, 2013 By: Patricia

Chiseled in Rock

Monthly Chiseled in Rock contributor Julie Luek waited out the winter snowstorms before venturing out to explore the best places to read, write or sip on the Western Slope of Colorado. This time she and her daughter visited Salida. I hope you’ll drop by and see what they found.

The Pooled Ink Anthology Giveaway

You still have until midnight tonight MT (if you reside in the U.S. or Canada) to enter the giveaway for Northern Colorado Writers Pooled Ink anthology celebrating the 2012 winners of NCW’s short fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry contests. Go here, and leave a comment to enter.

And Carol Kilgore’s Giveaway Too

The same goes for yesterday’s guest blogger, Carol Kilgore, who is giving away one copy of In Name Only. Visit yesterday’s post before midnight (MT) tonight and leave a comment to qualify.

I Need More Time to Read

This photo is only one shelf out of more than fifteen, my Kindle is loaded with books (mostly mysteries), and I just added a couple of novels to my Nook Tablet. The book I put on Hold is now available at the library, too.

I guess it’s time to give up Spider Solitaire and a few television shows. Sigh.

When we add the books we already have and want to read to the books we don’t yet have, but want to read, the list just gets longer and longer. (kind of like this sentence)

Pat – I know just what you mean about wishing for more time to read. One thing I like about my Kindle is that my unread books aren’t so obviously there, accusing me of ignoring them…

I am scrambling through a book on my Kindle (checked out so there is a poofing deadline) and then have two more with due dates to dig through. I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland!

Salida is a great, little town. I am definitely returning. I felt like I didn’t do all the art galleries justice. Besides, I’ll need to restock my honey supply! Thanks, Pat.

So many books, so little time.

I need more time to read as well!

Meet Patricia

I read, I write, I blog, and sometimes I do the laundry and cook. My 2014 novel, Dead Wrong, was a finalist in the thriller category of the 2015 Colorado Book Awards. Wishing Caswell Dead (Five Star/Cengage, December 20, 2017) is a historical mystery set in 1830s Illinois in the fictitious Village of Sangamon. The novel was a finalist for the 2018 Colorado Book Awards for General Fiction. My most recent release, In Defense of Delia (Five Star/Cengage, November 2022), is available in hardcover and will soon be available in ebook and trade paperback. Read More…
