Note: Kerrie Flanagan was the founder of Northern Colorado Writers but recently moved on to a position with the Writer’s Digest Conference Team. She is also the owner of Hot Chocolate Press publishing company.
Kerri is right. It’s about connections.
Hi Diane — that’s what we try to do with our blogs and social media if we’re doing it right. Even I, who love to find new authors and books to read, am put off by an onslaught of “buy my book” sales pitches.
Awesome! Will send some of those out on Twitter.
Thanks, Alex. I appreciate that.
The article about plagiarism was particularly interesting and informative. I had no idea that so many authors were getting ripped off. It is disheartening to see people who are so dishonest as to steal an author’s work. Or steal anything for that matter.
I agree. It seems we’re at risk for some kind of theft no matter what we do.
I read one of those already. Going to check out the other two.
That article on plagiarism by self-publishing was a shock. It’s bad enough that scam sites keep stealing our work and offering it for free online.
Thanks for the links to those informative blogs.
Hi Maryann — you’re so welcome. There’s so much good information out there sometimes it’s tough to pick just a few.
