Everyone Needs a Little Time Away from Writing

February 3, 2020 By: Patricia

My husband and I take a little time each day to work on this 4,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. It covers the whole dining room table. We should have put in the center leaf before starting, but I was confident we could manage without expanding the table and taking up even more room in the dining …Read More

I’m Back!

January 20, 2020 By: Patricia

I had knee replacement surgery on November 11th, 2019, and knew there were plenty of tasks I’d have to give up for two or three months. Blogging turned out to be the first activity to happily sit on the sidelines. The blog waited patiently for my return. As did the gym at the Senior Center. …Read More

Featured Book: Not Guilty by C. Lee McKenzie

November 1, 2019 By: Patricia

It’s not easy for a writer to tell a story without sounding preachy when there are numerous lessons  to be learned from the characters and events. C. Lee McKenzie pulls it off beautifully in the young adult novel, Not Guilty. Dialogue and narrative keep the reader in the story without a moment’s pause, and yet …Read More

Summer in All Its Glory

July 14, 2019 By: Patricia

I’ve been more focused on my flowers and my tomato plants this summer than my writing. It’s not lollygagging, though. I do a lot of writing in my head and planning while I’m watering and pulling weeds. Yesterday, I was standing idly by my garden boxes, watering the tomatoes, when a new visitor showed up …Read More

A Bomb Cyclone This Week, Spring Flowers Next Week

March 14, 2019 By: Patricia

To tell the truth, I already had spring flowers before the bomb cyclone winds and snow arrived in Colorado this week. And in spite of the blizzard conditions yesterday, my purple crocuses popped right back up through the snow today. I do love Colorado weather (especially when I can stay inside with a cup of …Read More
